Arrival

Thank you town of Charlestown, for allowing camping at Ninigret Park during Rhythm & Roots! Only 1,500 camping tickets are sold, so get yours early. If you’re not sure what to bring and what to leave at home, check out our handy list.

Camping ticket holders may line up at the park at 6 a.m. Friday, but no earlier by town ordinance. Our friendly staff will direct you. The camping area opens at 9 a.m. for folks to grab a spot and settle in.

Longtime festival-goers will tell you that camping makes the festival not only extra convenient, but extra special. Three nights of camping means more time with friends and family. Some of the performers stay in the campgrounds as well, so there’s always a chance of hearing musicians jam into the night.

Setting up is easy. Pitch your tent or park your camper and that’s it.

The park is spacious, flat and grassy, which is perfect for “in the rough” camping. While there are no hookups, RVs, pop-up campers and tent camping are welcome. Quiet camping areas are set aside for those who prefer it.

Drinking water, portable toilets and hand-washing stations are provided. Contained cook fires are allowed in the camping area, and hot showers are available for a small fee.

Set Up

Relax

Rhythm & Roots organizers make it easy to forget your worries. Keep your camping wristbands on, and you can come as you please from campground to the stages.

Security and first aid are available at all times and a lost child/parent center is located at the first aid tent. Remember that the town of Charlestown prohibits the use and display of alcohol in the park, but beer and wine may be purchased and consumed in the concert area.

We’re sure you’ll meet new friends and reconnect with old ones during Rhythm & Roots, but it all ends at noon Monday, when campers must depart. See you next year!

Ninigret Park is flat, grassy and spacious! It is perfect for RVs, pop-up campers and tents. Camping at Ninigret Park is allowed ONLY during the Rhythm and Roots Festival. A full festival camping ticket includes camping from Friday at Noon thru Noon on Monday (Labor Day).

Each person over the age of 12 who plans to camp at Rhythm & Roots needs a full festival camping ticket.

Anyone without a full festival camping ticket must leave the premises by 11:30 each night (a half hour after the music ends at the dance pavilion). Please note that only those with Camping wristbands will be allowed in the camping area.

Portable toilets, hand washing stations and drinking water are provided free of charge.  There are bike trails, hiking trails, tennis courts, Disc Golf, a planetarium and freshwater swimming pond on site.

Bikes are allowed in Ninigret Park (camping areas, bike trails, etc), but not allowed in the music area.

There will be a bike “corral” near the entrance where you can park your bike. Please secure your bike with a lock while you’re enjoying the shows.

We have 16 showers on site for campers. Open from 7am-1am, Friday-Monday . Starting this year, Campers who intend to use our showers, should purchase their “Shower Pass” in advance, online, while purchasing their camping pass.

No cash will be taken at the Showers as this eliminates the need to bring cash there, simply show the attendant your wristband and you’ll be good to go.

Shower passes are available and can only be used by those with Camping passes.

Contact Michelle at United Site Services in Foxboro, to reserve a Portapotty for your campsite. The $90 fee, when split with your campmates, this guarantees you a close and somewhat clean potty. It will be delivered after you arrive, by calling USS and letting them know where you are camped.

Note that the potty will not be serviced (emptied or supplied with TP) throughout the festival due to logistical reasons.  Call United Site Services at 508-245-4417 beginning August 1, 2022. – (for Weekend Campers Only)

Please note: The Town of Charlestown does not allow alcohol in the Ninigret Park camping area. Rhythm & Roots vendors will have beer and wine for purchase inside the concert area. Beer and wine must be consumed inside the concert area.

Allowed between 8am-11pm. Please be kind to your neighbors and use at more reasonable hours. If you have an RV or medical necessity, please park in the RV area where most campers are used to the sound of generators and please do not camp within the tented areas.
