Rose & The Bros are a powerhouse ensemble specializing in irresistible Zydeco and Cajun dance grooves, resonating with sweet vocal harmonies and crooning country roots. All the members lead eclectic lives on and off the stage, but are united in their passion for their music.
Rosie Newton is a singer, fiddler, and accordion player, who has toured on fiddle with Zydeco legend Preston Frank, as well as with the Canadian folk rock band, the Duhks. Steve Selin is not only a singer, fiddler, guitar player, and vital member of the Ithaca, NY music scene, but he also makes amazing cider under his label, South Hill Cider. Along with being a singer, guitarist and devotee of Zydeco and Cajun music, produce farmer Paul Martin owns and runs Sweet Land Farm in Trumansburg, NY. Bassist Angelo Peters is a busy man: he leads the innovative dance band, Big Mean Sound Machine, is a multi instrumentalist and singer in the band Swamp Kids, has toured with Donna the Buffalo and Jim Lauderdale and owns Black Bear Recording Studio, in Danby, NY. Angelo grew up dancing to Zydeco at the Grassroots Festival in Trumansburg where this music became part of his soul. Greg Evans is a passionate and captivating drummer, pedagogue and composer across many musical genres.. Evans also keeps an active teaching schedule at both Ithaca College and Cornell University. Sally Freund plays rub board and triangle, visits Louisiana frequently and dances like she lives there. She also plays in the Old Time band, Long John and the Tights, as well as Zydeco Trail Rider.
