Leftover Salmon Bio
For the past quarter-century, Colorado’s Leftover Salmon has established itself as one of the great purveyors of Americana music, digging deep into the well that supplies its influences— rock ‘n’ roll, folk, bluegrass, Cajun, soul, zydeco, jazz and blues. Their music is born of the heart and soul of America itself, reflecting the sounds emanating from the Appalachian hills, the streets of New Orleans, the clubs of Chicago, the plains of Texas, and the mountains of Colorado. Over the years, the legendary band’s sound has grown and evolved, while staying true to the roots and guiding spirit of the band’s founding members.
Relying as much on spontaneous improvisation as it has on practiced skill, Leftover Salmon has become known as the architects of Jamgrass, breaking free of the traditional rules of bluegrass through non-traditional instrumentation and an innate ability in live performances to push songs in new psychedelic directions. Something Higher, the newest studio album from the band, is due to be released in May 2018 and is currently available for pre-order!
