Athens, GA based southern country rock band Drive-By Truckers was founded in 1996 by Patterson Hood and long-time friend and former roommate Mike Cooley, and although the band’s lineup has been fluid over the past 28 years (Jason Isbell was a member 2001-6), Hood and Cooley have remained constants in the band since day one.

Although the band has released 14 studio albums and 7 live albums, a full schedule of constant touring and lauded live shows have largely been responsible for DBT’s dedicated following. Now, DBT is on the road once again, for the Southern Rock Opera Revisited 2024 tour. Twenty three years since the release of that seminal 2001 album, they are at it again, 3 guitars blazing.

As Patterson Hood explains, “ A lot has happened in the decades since it came out, both to the band and to the world we live in. We feel that the record… has a current timeliness to it considering the social and political issues of today. Instead of performing it as if it’s still 2000, we want to make it our own reflecting who we all are now in 2024. It’s going to be intense, but also a hell of a lot of fun! We’ll be playing songs from the original release, plus a small handful of songs that pertain to its themes and points of view, plus a short encore set that will be different each night.”
