C-4 is the brainchild of the group’s drummer & youngest member, Burke Riley, who is the son of Grammy winning Cajun musician, Steve Riley. When he was 13, Burke, who is also the drummer for long-time favorite Steve Riley & the Mamou Playboys, approached his dad with the idea of starting a Cajun band with guys closer to his age. At Burke’s request, Steve reached out to fiddler Luke Huval, steel guitarist Donovan Bourque, & bassist Thomas David, all who agreed to be part of the project. When it came to finding a young accordionist, Burke made an exception for the age requirement and asked his dad if he’d join the group. Thus was born, C-4, a multigenerational Cajun music powerhouse featuring 4 vocalists, 3 up and coming leaders of the new generation of Cajun music in Burke, Luke, & Donovan, and 2 tried and trusted veterans in Steve and Thomas..
