The musicianship of Asleep at the Wheel has become the stuff of legends and Reuter’s pegged The Wheel as “one of the best live acts in the business.” Since the early ’70s, the band has been known as one of the most important forces in keeping the sound of Western swing alive, and have not only preserved classic sounds that had all but disappeared from country music, but have also been able to update the music, keeping it a living, breathing art form.
