Jeffery Broussard & the Creole Cowboys Bio

Jeffery Broussard is the real deal. Dedicated to preserving and promoting Creole culture and zydeco music, Jeffery plays with all the energetic passion one would expect from one the most influential accordionists and vocalists in modern Zydeco music.

He exhibits a range seldom seen in Zydeco, from traditional songs from the old masters to originals, single note and triple note accordion to fiddle. In fact, he is one of only a handful of Creole fiddlers currently touring. He plays his own style, developed using only two fingers on the strings, sometimes a third, and plays by sliding into and out of the notes.

Although accordion is his main instrument, Jeffery plays guitar, bass, fiddle, and percussion instruments (drums, triangle, and scrubboard), in keeping with the traditional Zydeco style. Jeffery has continually been an innovator, beginning his career with traditional Creole Zydeco music playing drums in his father’s band, Delton Broussard & The Lawtell Playboys, then moving on to develop the nouveau Zydeco sound in Zydeco Force.

He now returns to the more traditional Zydeco sound with his own band, Jeffery Broussard and The Creole Cowboys.
