Taking equal inspiration from Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli’s pioneering gypsy jazz Quintette du Hot Club de France and the Western Swing of Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys, Hot Club of Cowtown have shared the stage with Bob Dylan, Roxy Music, Willie Nelson, the Avett Brothers, and more. The trio was inducted into the Texas Western Swing Hall of Fame in 2004, and this year they celebrate their 20th anniversary.

With an omnivorous appetite for the breadth of American music, Los Angeles-based octet Dustbowl Revival blends Stax-era soul, New Orleans jazz, Delta blues, bluegrass, funk, R&B, country, and folk music in raucous, danceable performances. Shows with Preservation Hall Jazz Band and Lake Street Dive exposed them to national audiences, and LA Weekly recently awarded them the title Best Live Band in L.A.

This special double-bill honors the legacy of the enormously influential Canadian group, whose mix of country, rock, blues, and soul earned them a 1994 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Their first two legendary albums, Songs From Big Pink and The Band, are ranked respectively at #34 and #45 on Rolling Stone’s list of 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, and include “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down,” “The Weight,” “Up on Cripple Creek,” and “I Shall Be Released.”
